The entire BOA staff has returned from the AWP Conference in Denver, Colorado. Once again, the conference managed to be both exhausting and stimulating all at the same time. We got to spend time with dozens of BOA authors and FOBs (Friends of BOA) and we'll be posting photos and comments about the conference here soon (if you're our friend on Facebook, you've already seen some of those. Keetje Kuipers' new book, Beautiful in the Mouth, is officially published by BOA this month! Her manuscript was selected by final judge Thomas Lux as winner of the 2009 A. Poulin, Jr. Poetry Prize. Lux said of the book, “I was immediately struck by the boldness of imagination, the strange cadences, and wild music of these poems.
